Bus Stop

Artist:
Aktan Abdykalykov and Ernest Abdyjaparov. Born 1957 and 1961, Kyrgyzstan. Both live and work in Kyrgyzstan.

Exhibit:
Beket (Bus Stop), 1995
Film transferred to video, 27 mins

Beket is a film about a small group of people waiting at a bus stop in what seems to be a rural, snowy landscape in Kyrgyzstan. It starts first with two people, who are gradually joined by three others. The dynamics change as each of the people turns up, culminating in a search for an object in the snow.

Moi: The write-up is more interesting than the actual footage. Yawn.
Singapore Biennale 2008, Raw Canvas, Singapore, Containart Pavilion, Flight, Address, Jane Lee, Shigeru Ban, Zadok Ben-David, Alfredo Juan Aquilizan, Maria Isabel Gaudinez-Aquilizan
