Raw Canvas 2

Using a combination of paint and mixed media, the artist continues to develop her work by using the space as an aesthetic ploy. One is able to see the wall behind the painting, just as one would see through a loosely constructed fabric.

Update:
The person who bought Jane Lee's Raw Canvas in 2008 is Mr. Jackson See, 50, a local private art collector.

"He saw the work, which is about the size of a badminton court, at the Singapore Biennale in 2008 ... He declined to say how much he paid for it. "The minute I saw it, I knew this work must not leave Singapore," says the collector, who is known in art circles for spotting artists well before they turn into big names." - Deepika Shetty for The Straits Times, Thursday, January 6 2011, Page C2.
