Common Big-Jawed Spider Feeding
Family: Tetragnathidae (Big-Jawed Spiders)
Species: Tetragnatha mandibulata (Walckenaer, 1841)
Location: Toa Payoh Town Garden
The victim of this Common Big-Jawed Spider is a male Common Bluetail (I. senegalensis) damselfly.
Nothing is wasted in a meal, as can be seen by this picture which shows the poor damselfly being sucked dry, with head and thorax practically indistinguishable.
